Fisherman's just added brand new handrails to their entrance, ramps and stairs.  They also removed some barriers along interior routes.

BluePath Priorities

  • Parking
    0 out of 5 rating
  • Designated accessible parking on University, directly under the Viaduct and across the street from our Pier!

  • Route to Entrance
    5 out of 5 rating
  • Flat sidewalk and wide entrance to Miner’s Landing. Entrance to restaurant from carousel area is slightly ramped and new handrails have just been installed. There are two ramps available to our outdoor patio and cocktail patio.

  • Doors
    5 out of 5 rating
  • Doors are slightly heavier than 10 lbs so we are working to reduce the tension on the door openers/closers.

  • Interior Route
    5 out of 5 rating
  • Two ramps with newly installed handrails allow access to the best seating in the house near the windows overlooking the waterfront. No current access to 2nd level dining area. (Historic status of pier makes access structurally infeasible.)

  • Restrooms
    0 out of 5 rating
  • Fully accessible restrooms are located outside the restaurant about 10 paces from the host desk entrance, near the carousel. Men’s on the left, Women’s on the right. May need code to enter. Men’s restroom has accessible urinal but be careful under the sink as the pipe is partially covered and effort is being taken to replace. The pier has also been informed to relocate the toilet paper dispensers further from the toilet seat edge.

  • Tables & Chairs
    5 out of 5 rating
  • We have two 2-tops that have no legs and are drilled into the wall so there are absolutely no barriers below the table. We are working to create multiple 4-tops with corner legs instead of a center base. Most tables have 4-pronged center bases.

  • Lighting       & Visual Environment
    0 out of 5 rating
  • Dim lighting in the evenings so reading lights are available.

  • Service Animals
    0 out of 5 rating
  • Service animals welcome.

My friend & I went to Fishermans because they were on BluePath. My friend uses a power wheelchair and the staff were very welcoming and allowed him to keep his chair by our table, which is very convenient and reassuring for him. Sometimes other restaurants make you keep it out of the way. It was no problem; they made it happen! People just walked around. Service was friendly and we had a nice view. Also, the route to the restaurant from the Pier was accessible.
